The Financial System of India has a code which we called as IFSC code. It is a 11 character unique code which is used for identifying the branch name and the bank in which our account is held. The two national payments ATM we have which is NEFT and RTGS uses this unique IFSC code for transaction routing. This code contains characters in which first four digits identify the bank name, fifth number kept always 0 and then last remaining six digits represents the branch of the bank. It is a unique alphanumeric code that is mainly used to search and identify all the banks that are participating under NEFT system. This code is unique for each bank and its related branch.
